music review 2 elaan
The music launch happened with mush gusto in Mumbai, by Venus Films (Producer) among the cast who were readily interacting with the media and giving out interviews. Anu Malik has composed the music while Sameer has inscribed the songs. The music is in the safe hands, lets find out if it can trigger off with an impact!
Anu Malik proves his musical totality by executing ‘Bechain Mera Dil Hai’ rather adeptly also setting the elegant mood of the album. Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik get together for this intense duet. The slow and steady flow of music ushered with a melodious composition and apt lyrics, is a good starter. A track to grow on at its own pace will conclusively find its coveted takers. No one but Sunidhi and KK could have done better justice to compliment the youthful and perky composition ‘Dil Mein Hulchul’. The much-required elements in their voice, revelation of passion and the modern beat will make it a chart-topping track. Sameer’s simplified lyrics make the track absolutely likable. The track sounds so incredibly spirited and dance friendly that it's just fine. Next on the menu is ‘Andarlu Mandarlu’. Mr.Sameer, what does that mean! Though its unexplainable how far you may try to sort it out, you may freak out with the music. All the beats and instruments charge up in the voices of Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal, Sunidhi Chauhan and Anu Malik. This situational number is lighthearted and hilarious! Not to miss out, the Remix of the song that pops up again! For a difference or whatsoever comes ‘Meri Zindagi Mein Koyi’ in Gayatri Iyer’s excitingly vivacious voice. Make a note that this number may sound like one of the James Bond opening sequence. This track does help to enrich the experience of music so far. The theme should set the temper of the movie right and disclose the plot jovially. The album advances with the similar feel, but with greater pace, as ‘Dua Karna’ takes on, which is presumably an item number. However, the track swanks of factors other than melody is commonplace and lyrics conventional. Only Lara Dutta can save it up by giving a rocking performance. Elaan will have lots of things to its credit but the extent of the likeness for the music is not convincing. Being a thriller, audiences won’t expect much from the music, that’s for sure. But as music is counted as the forte of the movie, some good tracks would have definitely backed up the movie initials. As for now the movie will have to back up the music. How sad! |
