Oh oh, I know well kind of (influence from Hindi movies)

well the bride wears those on her hands, and then after the wedding, single girls stand in a line, and then the bride walks along the line, dangling that stuff over their heads and then when it falls on some girl, then it means something that she's going to get married soon. It's like Christian weddings, when the bride throws the bouquet.

..or I might be wrong, and just written sh*t in this post.
