[Full Story] Vivek Oberoi, Aish to marry soon

After months of dilly-dallying, former Miss World Aishwarya Rai has finally decided to wear Bollywood’s matinee idol Vivek Oberoi’s wedding ring.

The actor has revealed this to news channel Aajtak during an interview to be telecast on Sunday.

Answering a question, Vivek said: “When our relationship started two-and-half years ago, people said it will not last, but we are still together.”

“She has been very lucky for me. A right girl brings stability in one’s life,” he added.

Asked about the possibility of working with Aishwarya’s former paramour Salman Khan, Vivek said: “Right now, I am in no mood to work with him” but “life is long and nobody knows what will happen”.

He did not rule out the possibility of working again with Aishwarya “if a producer offers us a good script and story”.

“But I do not work with actresses, I work with directors. It is the director’s prerogative to cast,” he added.

He admitted that he did not think Aishwarya was the most beautiful woman in the world. “The most beautiful woman is my mother, then Madhubala. Aishwarya is only third.”

No tiff with Jaya

Vivek, who had gone to southern India for charity work after the tsunami disaster, denied that he ever had any confrontation with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha.

“Amma had granted us land to build an orphanage. Why would she help me if she had a problem with me?” he wondered.

The comment came following a reported observation made by Ms Jayalalitha that Vivek had done the tsumani relief work only as a “publicity stunt”.

He denied that he had done anything for publicity and the media had gone to cover his work for tsunami victims on their own. “I do not believe in people doing social work only after retirement. I took a three-and-half-month break to work with the people. It is only now that people have noticed it. I have been doing this for the last five years,” he added.
